Getting Here & Settling In

Directions, parking, the roundabout construction, and your first hour at the house.

Finding the house

The home is in Zion, Illinois, minutes from the Wisconsin border and about an hour from both Chicago and Milwaukee. Your exact address and gate details arrive after booking. If you are flying in, O'Hare (ORD) is about 55 minutes and Milwaukee (MKE) is about 45 minutes.

The roundabout construction

There is roadwork at Russell Rd & Kenosha Rd, where a roundabout is being built. The house is fully accessible, but the current route includes a gravel section. Low-clearance cars should take it slowly. Machinery can be audible some mornings; it quiets down by mid-day.

Parking

Pull in and park on the left side of the driveway (room for two cars). There is additional space in front of the garage door. Parking is free and on the property.

Your first hour

  1. Unlock with your smart-lock key code (sent before arrival). Check-in is after 3:00 PM.
  2. Lights: switches sit near the exit doors, or say "Alexa, turn on the living room lights."
  3. WiFi & work: connect and settle into the workspace in Bedroom 1 (standing desk, dual monitor).
  4. Music: pair with the "Sonos Speaker" over Bluetooth.
  5. Supplies: a Walmart is 3 minutes away if you need groceries or anything you forgot.

Bring bottled water if you prefer it for drinking (the home is on well water), and settle in for the quiet.
