Lake Michigan shoreline, state parks, marinas, and forest trails right outside the door.
On the property
Start with the 6 private acres around the house. There is a private forest trail for a slow morning walk, a fire pit for the evening, a hammock swing, and a big deck for meals outside. Deer wander through and the mornings are full of songbirds.
Illinois Beach State Park — 17 min
Miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, dune trails, and swimming in season. One of the quietest stretches of beach in the region and a great half-day outing.
North Point Marina — 10 min
The largest marina on the Great Lakes. Walk the docks, book a charter fishing trip, or grab a lakeside bite. Guests have paired this with fishing out of Kenosha.
Kenosha lakefront — 16 min
HarborPark, the electric streetcar, lighthouses, and lakefront museums. An easy, walkable afternoon on the Wisconsin side.
A little further
- Bristol Renaissance Faire (Kenosha, in season): under 15 minutes, a summer-weekend favorite.
- Lake Geneva, WI (44 min): lake resort town with the famous shore path.
Tips
- Bring lawn chairs if you want to lounge in the yard; the grass can grow tall in peak season.
- Pack layers for the lakefront, which stays breezy even on warm days.
